Around Lagos, golden cliffs shelter small coves and long open beaches. Descend the wooden stairway to Praia do Camilo, walk the length of Meia Praia, or take a boat from the waterfront into the sea caves and arches of Ponta da Piedade.

Old Town Evenings

As the heat of the day fades, Lagos comes alive. Wander cobbled lanes inside the old walls, pass the gilded interior of the Igreja de Santo António, then settle in for grilled fish or a cataplana as the harbour lights come on.

The Wild West Coast

Head west and the landscape changes: tall cliffs, Atlantic swell and wide beaches within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. Surfers gather at Arrifana and Amado; at Cabo de São Vicente, near Sagres, the continent ends in a lighthouse and the open ocean.
