VILLASernadinha
A private Algarve retreat between countryside and coast
The Algarve, undisturbed
A private retreat shaped by light, landscape and silence.
Villa Sernadinha stands alone on a rise of open country outside Bensafrim, reached by a single track through the hills. There are no neighbours in view — only wild olive, scrub and a wide western sky.
The house is long, low and lined with glass. Living spaces slide open to covered terraces, a pool runs into a courtyard at its centre, and the main rooms turn towards the landscape. Five bedrooms sleep ten in complete privacy.
The coast is never far. The historic centre of Lagos is around fifteen minutes by car — close enough for dinner in town, far enough to hear nothing but the hills.

Architecture
Designed around the landscape.
Deep white roofs float over walls of glass, shading the rooms while framing the hills beyond. Sliding panels open the living room to the terrace, so a meal, a swim and an afternoon read happen in one continuous space.
At the centre of the plan, the pool slips beneath the roof into an open courtyard. Water and light are visible from the corridor, the living room and a bedroom that opens directly onto it.

The pool
Nothing between you
and the horizon.
A long infinity pool runs from the courtyard at the heart of the house towards the valley, its edge falling away to the hills. Loungers line a warm timber deck, with the shade of the terrace a few steps away.
Life at Sernadinha
The shape of a day.

Morning
Coffee at the kitchen island as the valley fills with light.

Midday
Long swims, then the shade of the palms.

Lunch
A table for ten on the terrace, facing the hills.

In the kitchen
Walnut, granite and room to cook together.

Afternoon
Linen, cool slate floors and a slow siesta.

On the terrace
A book, a breeze and nowhere to be.

Movement
An exercise bike, weights and a table tennis table downstairs.

Golden hour
Something cold as the light softens over the hills.
Bedrooms
Room to retreat.
Five bedrooms for up to ten guests, finished in a calm palette of linen, timber and slate. Several open onto the garden or the courtyard pool, and five bathrooms keep mornings unhurried.

Private gym
Exercise bike and multi-station weight machine.
Sauna
Warmth after a swim or a day on the coast.
Gardens & terraces
Open air, shade and silence in every direction.

The western Algarve
Countryside calm.
Atlantic energy.
From the quiet of the hills, the coast is close. Lagos brings a historic old town, a lively marina and the sculpted cliffs of Ponta da Piedade. Further west, the south-coast coves give way to the wild Atlantic shore, where surfers head for Arrifana and Amado. In between: golf, coastal trails, seafood and long, unhurried lunches.
